Family Clinic of Seminary Celebrates 25 Years of Service
Hattiesburg Clinic Family Clinic of Seminary recently celebrated 25 years of service to Seminary, Miss., and its surrounding areas. On Nov. 14, former and current employees, friends, family, nurses and staff members gathered to show their support in honor of the clinic’s anniversary. Through the celebratory event, Billy Mack Pickering, MD, reflected on his time with Hattiesburg Clinic and his decision to start a clinic in Seminary.
“Seminary is my home. I came from here and saw there was a need for health care,” Pickering said. “I feel blessed to be a part of this clinic when I see adult patients who were kids when I first treated them.”
When reflecting on why Pete Redmon, II, FNP, chose to stay in Seminary to provide services, he was able to look back to where it all began for him and Dr. Pickering. “One day as I was driving around town, I saw Dr. Pickering and his wife, Julie, putting a sign that said they were opening a clinic. I stopped and welcomed him and his wife to Seminary, and knew I wanted to come work with him,” Redmon said.
Family Clinic of Seminary has grown and continues to offer services to Seminary residents, as well as to members of surrounding communities. Because of the personalized, compassionate care they provide, the clinic has patients willing to travel from out-of-state in order to see one of the providers in Seminary. This positive impact has allowed Family Clinic of Seminary to set itself apart as a patient-centered health care facility.
Megumi “Meg” Boone, MD, the clinic’s newest physician, says she was drawn to Family Clinic of Seminary because of the warm, small town atmosphere. Boone says that she enjoys being able to grow with her patients by getting to be by their sides during difficult times. Bobby G. Jones, DO, says that getting to know all of the patients on a personal level is his favorite part of being in Seminary.
All of these providers and their staff share the same love for the town and welcoming nature of Seminary, Miss. Donna Allday, LPN, who has worked at Family Clinic of Seminary for 15 years, shares why she has worked with the clinic for as long as she has.
“I enjoy helping people that I know. I feel at home and this is the doctor’s office where everyone knows your name. I feel like I make a difference here,” Allday said.
At Family Clinic of Seminary, the providers focus on serving the town and providing comprehensive evaluation and care to meet the total health needs of each family member.
Family Clinic of Seminary looks forward to many more years of providing care and service in the town of Seminary and thanks each individual who has allowed them to play a part in their health care journey over the last 25 years.
Hattiesburg Clinic is thankful for the providers, nurses and staff for continuing to provide quality health care to patients every day.
