Meet Kristin Lindsey with Purchasing
At Hattiesburg Clinic, every department plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional patient care. One such team is Purchasing, where Kristin Lindsey has been a dedicated buyer for over seven years.
Lindsey’s primary responsibility is to purchase all necessary supplies, medications and equipment that various departments within the clinic require. Specifically, she is the medical-surgical buyer, which includes procuring items for all the surgery centers within Hattiesburg Clinic. Her role is vital in maintaining the efficiency and readiness of these centers, ensuring they are well-stocked and equipped to provide top-notch care.
One of the aspects Lindsey enjoys most about working in Purchasing is the strong sense of camaraderie among her colleagues. ” We are all very close, and they are truly like family to me. It is a great environment to work in,” she shares.
Lindsey also finds great joy in her role as a buyer due to the relationships she forms with people outside of her department. “Most of it is over the phone or through email, but I feel like I have met a lot of great people,” she says. These interactions allow her to connect with a diverse group of individuals, enriching her professional experience.
Throughout her time at Hattiesburg Clinic, Lindsey has gained valuable skills that extend beyond her immediate responsibilities. “My time at Hattiesburg Clinic has allowed me to gain exceptional problem-solving skills, organizational skills and leadership skills. Working with this team, I am learning something new every day,” she explains.
Born in Denver, Colo., Lindsey moved to Hattiesburg when she was one year old and has lived here ever since. She graduated from Oak Grove High School in 2010 and completed her associate’s degree at Pearl River Community College. Her career at Hattiesburg Clinic began as a receptionist at the Breast Center. She advanced to clinical assistant before taking on her role in Purchasing.
Lindsey’s family is a significant part of her life. She is very close to them, especially her mom, whom she describes as her best friend. She also has an older brother and two nieces who mean the world to her. Additionally, she has a toy poodle named Brody, whom she affectionately refers to as her child.
In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to the beach and relaxing outdoors by the lake or pool. Her hobbies reflect her love for adventure and the outdoors, providing a perfect balance to her professional life.
