Meet Keisha Wedgeworth with Immediate Care – Petal
At Hattiesburg Clinic Immediate Care – Petal, Keisha Wedgeworth shines as a certified medical assistant. Keisha plays an integral part in caring for patients who come in acutely ill or injured, bringing her compassion, energy and dedication to each interaction. Her role as a medical assistant allows her to connect with patients, provide them with comfort and support them through challenging moments.
Raised in Runnelstown and Petal, Keisha started her journey with Hattiesburg Clinic in 2006. She briefly left after the birth of her daughter before returning to the clinic, which she calls her “home,” in 2020. One of Keisha’s favorite parts of her job is the interaction with patients. Whether it is through providing care or engaging in conversation, Keisha brings a personal touch to her work, saying, “I will never meet a stranger, that’s for sure. I love being an ear for patients who need someone to listen.”
Keisha’s colleagues describe her as someone with a heart larger than life. She is known for giving without hesitation, doing so much for others without expecting recognition. “Keisha pays attention to the needs, likes and desires of others and is truly caring,” says one colleague. “She does a lot for others that no one has a clue about. She loves to make others happy.”
Her seasonal decorations throughout the clinic have become a favorite among patients, with many commenting on how they lift their spirits when they visit. She also dotes on the younger patients who come in and makes treats bags for them. “She is so amazing with all the children,” her colleague states. “They all love Ms. Keisha.”
When she is not at work, Keisha enjoys crafting, decorating and spending time outdoors. She also loves doing things for others, continuing her caring nature beyond the clinic. Her family — especially her two children, Peyton (19) and Abbi (14) — means everything to her. “My kids are my world,” she says, adding that they keep her going.
Keisha’s positive energy, love for her job, and dedication to others make her a cherished part of the Hattiesburg Clinic team. Thank you for all that you do!
