Meet Paula Jones with Patient Accounts Representatives
Meet Paula Jones, a cornerstone of Hattiesburg Clinic’s Patient Accounts Representatives department, who has been part of the clinic family since 2005. As a patient accounts manager, Paula leads her team with a warm heart, a wealth of knowledge and a true passion for patient service.
The patient accounts team is dedicated to assisting patients with the administrative aspects of their appointments, ensuring accurate registration, making sure insurance is up to date and addressing any billing inquiries. Paula’s role is integral in supporting her team and fostering their professional growth. She finds joy in helping her team members succeed, striving to be their “biggest cheerleader.” Her team knows they can rely on her for guidance, problem-solving and enthusiastic support.
During her time at Hattiesburg Clinic, Paula has gained invaluable knowledge under the mentorship of someone she described as an exceptional leader. She has developed a solid understanding of the clinic’s processes, from claims processing and payment management to work queues. This insight has been key to her ability to support others effectively, enhancing both her role and her department’s operations. When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Paula is quick to mention the relationships she has formed. “It is a breath of fresh air to be able to consider the people you work with a big family,” Paula said.
Though born in Hattiesburg, Paula spent her childhood in New Augusta, Miss., before moving back to Hattiesburg in 1999. She attended Perry Central High School and Pearl River Community College before embarking on her career path. She is happily married to her best friend, Cedric, who is also part of the Hattiesburg Clinic family as a Patient Representative. Together, they have three children—Karah, Cameron and CJ—and recently welcomed their first grandchild, Jakari, born in October 2024, who she cannot wait to spoil!
Outside of work, Paula is an avid collector of fragrances, with over 200 bottles to her name. One day, she hopes to create her own signature scent. In her spare time, you can often find her scouring garage sales with her mother and daughter, always on the hunt for the perfect thrifted treasure.
Thank you, Paula, for your dedication, warmth and the countless ways you contribute to making Hattiesburg Clinic a welcoming place for patients and staff alike.
