Kahler Retires after 35 Years
Hattiesburg Clinic would like to offer gratitude and best wishes to Ralph C. Kahler, MD, who has retired from the clinic after a total of 35 years of service to our communities. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Kahler made invaluable contributions to both the Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine departments.
Kahler received his medical degree from University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1981 followed by an internship there in the Division of Infectious Diseases. He then completed his residency and fellowship at UMMC in the Department of Medicine. He has subsequently served as medical director for Regency Hospital of Hattiesburg, Perry County Nursing Center, Windham House, Bedford Care of Hattiesburg, and Hattiesburg Health and Rehab. Kahler first joined the clinic in 1986 and served with Hattiesburg Clinic Infectious Diseases until 1992 before transitioning to Methodist Hospital of Hattiesburg. He returned to Infectious Diseases in January of 1997 and remained with the clinic from that point forward.
Bryan N. Batson, MD, chief executive officer of Hattiesburg Clinic, reflected on Kahler’s broad expertise saying, “Dr. Kahler has worked in many areas of patient care during his time with Hattiesburg Clinic. The prevailing theme throughout Dr. Kahler’s career has been the focus on providing patients with excellent care – no matter their condition or challenges. Hattiesburg Clinic and our patients will certainly miss Dr. Kahler, and we thank him for his dedication to the profession and our community.”
While we will miss Kahler’s presence, we are thrilled to celebrate this exciting new chapter. Retirement marks the beginning of new adventures, well-earned relaxation and the pursuit of passions. We know he will embrace this next phase with the same enthusiasm and grace he’s brought to his career.
