Hattiesburg Clinic Sponsors 13th Annual Half Marathon

Hattiesburg Clinic is honored to have served as the title sponsor for the Hattiesburg Half Marathon/10K/5K for the third consecutive year. The event took place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in downtown Hattiesburg, beginning and ending at the historic Saenger Theatre.

The race brought together 1,500 participants from the Pine Belt and beyond. Runners of all experience levels took part, from seasoned athletes aiming for personal records to first-time 5K participants. Regardless of their goals, each runner contributed to a greater purpose –supporting local charities.

Through fundraising and community partnerships, the marathon benefits several local organizations, including The Arc Southeast Mississippi, The Children’s Center for Communication and Development, Domestic Abuse Family Shelter, The DuBard School for Language Disorders, The Family YMCA of Southeast Mississippi, Kuntry Kidz Youth Foundation, Southern Pines Animal Shelter and Laurel Christian School. The Arc Southeast Mississippi kicked off the race while other benefiting organizations provided refreshments and encouragement along the course.

As the title sponsor, Hattiesburg Clinic physicians and employees were actively involved throughout the day—whether running, volunteering or assisting participants. The Hattiesburg Clinic sports medicine team played a vital role in ensuring runner safety, with physicians and athletic trainers stationed along the route. They staffed a medical tent at the race’s halfway point and had their mobile athletic training trailer at the finish line offering immediate care if needed.

“We take great pride in supporting an event that brings people together in the spirit of health, wellness and community,” Hattiesburg Clinic’s Chief Executive Officer, Bryan N. Batson, MD, said. “The marathon is more than a race; it’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the organizations that serve our region.”

Hattiesburg Clinic is honored to sponsor this philanthropic event, supporting a cause that promotes health and wellness in our region. By being part of this effort, we are proud to contribute to the collective work of all those involved, continuing our commitment to the community, our patients and everyone who calls the Pine Belt home.
