Hattiesburg Clinic Recognizes Our Physicians
Today is National Doctors’ Day, and we would like to take this time to thank our physicians for the contributions they have made in the lives of our patients and community.
Did you know National Doctors’ Day was first celebrated 90 years ago? Eudora Almond Brown, the wife of Charles B. Almond, MD, developed the idea in order to honor physicians for their important work. She chose March 30 as it was the anniversary of the first time a physician used anesthesia in surgery, which occurred on March 30, 1842.
This was an unofficial holiday for the next 58 years. Congress passed a proclamation in 1991 making Doctors’ Day a nationally recognized holiday.
Hattiesburg Clinic physicians, we thank you for the work you do for our patients and community!
