Hattiesburg Clinic Heart & Vascular is a proud supporter of the 2022 Pine Belt Heart Walk hosted by the American Heart Association. The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 leading causes of death – heart disease and stroke. This year’s event was recently held at USM Spirit Park in Hattiesburg.
The Heart & Vascular team participated to raise awareness of the importance of diet and exercise to prevent heart disease.
Money raised during this walk helps to fund lifesaving science and puts scientific advances into doctors’ hands. These advances can help to create artificial heart valves, correct heart defects in newborns, prevent a stroke, find a cure for blood pressure concerns and more.
The American Heart Association (AHA) was founded in 1924 by six cardiologists. Today, AHA is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.
