Hattiesburg Clinic Talks “Moving Health Care Forward” at ADP Accelerate Luncheon
Hattiesburg Clinic recently co-sponsored the Area Development Partnership (ADP)’s Accelerate Luncheon with Forrest General Hospital, where the topic was “Moving Health Care Forward.”
Three Hattiesburg Clinic physicians spoke on how their respective fields are helping to advance health care in the area.
Michael G. Vanderloo, DO, a physician at Hattiesburg Clinic Lincoln Road Family Medicine and HealthWorks Occupational Medicine, discussed his goal of improving health and productivity in the workplace.
“In order to grow and ultimately help the community and economic development in the Pine Belt, the health and wellbeing of our employees must stay in the forefront,” Dr. Vanderloo said.
Keynote speakers for the event were John S. “Bo” Hrom, MD, FACP, and Rambod A. Rouhbakhsh, MD.
Dr. Hrom is a physician with Hattiesburg Clinic Hematology/Oncology and also oversees the clinical trial program at the Forrest General Cancer Center.
He detailed how cancer clinical trials work, how patients are helped throughout the process and what it means to South Mississippi to have a clinical trial program in Hattiesburg. He also spoke in depth about inclusivity in clinical trials, something that his program works hard to maintain.
Dr. Rouhbakhsh is a faculty physician and program director at the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program and the principal investigator for Hattiesburg Clinic MediSync® Clinical Research.
As the director of the Family Medicine Residency Program, Rouhbakhsh works with physicians who have finished medical school to provide three additional years of training in a clinic setting. He discussed the important role that family medicine physicians play in the ongoing care of patients.
In addition to the three speakers, Hattiesburg Clinic also provided a door prize at the event, which was won by local businessman, Dustin Bice with South Mississippi Office Furniture.
Hattiesburg Clinic was honored to partner with the ADP to sponsor this event and is proud to be part of the effort to move health care forward in the Pine Belt.
