Patients between the ages of 40 and 70 years-old who have any of the following risk factors may be considered for cardiac calcium scoring:

Patients who smoke or have previously smoked
Patients who have a family history of heart disease
Patients who have high blood pressure or high cholesterol
Patients who have diabetes
Patients who are obese
Patients with sedentary lifestyles
