Chemotherapy Technicians and Nurses Receive Cheers
The WOW! Committee would like to congratulate the chemotherapy technicians and nurses with Hattiesburg Clinic Hematology/Oncology, on receiving the Cheers from Your Peers award. This award is given to employees who exemplify Hattiesburg Clinic’s values. Each month, one employee or a group of employees is selected based on peer nominations received during that period.
This group of employees was recognized by a chemotherapy patient for showing compassion, understanding and empathy during treatments. In their individual roles, they tend to patients during treatment to ensure they are comfortable, keep the treatment areas clean and in order and sit with the patients to make sure they understand each step of the treatment. They also provide comfort for patients who may feel uneasy about chemotherapy.
The caring nature of each member of the team was highlighted by the patient in her nomination, which said, “Everyone was great. They explained to me what they were doing, talked to me, asked about my day and life and shared some of their life with me. I never felt that I was a bother. I was very well cared for by each of them.”
Thank you to each technician and nurse for your wonderful care for our patients and beyond. We appreciate all that you do!
