Prior to developing a personalized treatment plan, one of our mental health specialists will take a thorough history of the presenting problems and symptoms. This will include a review of the following:
- Your personal psychiatric history.
- Family psychiatric history.
- Current symptoms related to psychiatric diagnosis.
- Substance use history.
- Medical history and current medical problems.
The purpose of the review will be to determine what concerns and symptoms are interfering with your day-to-day functioning and well-being. Once a proximate diagnosis is established, psychiatric testing may be obtained to ensure a more precise diagnosis. Our providers then focus on the individual needs of the patient by developing a personalized treatment plan. The plan may incorporate individual, family, group and/or couples therapy with psychiatric medications. A long-term plan will be established as well.
