Jon D. Thornton, MD, PhD, is a physician with Hattiesburg Clinic Nephrology.
Dr. Thornton received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama Frederich P. Whiddon College of Medicine in Mobile, Al. He completed his internship and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He completed a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.
Thornton is certified in nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the Mississippi State Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Heart Association-Circulation Council, the Southern Medical Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the South Carolina Medical Association, the Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Society, the South Mississippi Medical Society and the American Physiological Society.
