Robert D. Walley, DO, is a physician with Hattiesburg Clinic Pulmonary Medicine and Hattiesburg Clinic Critical Care Medicine.
Walley received his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed an internal medicine residency pulmonary and critical care fellowship with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine – Largo Medical Center. He then practiced medicine in Amarillo, Texas, where he served as a staff pulmonary and critical care physician and taught medical students and residents with the Texas Tech College of Medicine. Walley has been in practice with Hattiesburg Clinic Critical Care Medicine since January 2023 and joined Pulmonary Medicine in July of 2024.
As a pulmonologist, Walley treats common pulmonary diseases including asthma, COPD and pneumonia. As a critical care physician, he has a special interest in cardiac critical care patients and has a background in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, left ventricular assist devices, and transplant management. Walley’s passion is education for both his patients and trainees. He has developed didactic curricula for residents and fellows throughout his training and has been an enthusiastic teacher of residents and students since becoming an attending physician. He has presented for the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association as well as with local medical students and resident physicians since beginning his work with Hattiesburg Clinic.
