David R. Yowell, PhD, is a psychologist with Hattiesburg Clinic Psychology & Counseling.
Dr. Yowell received his Doctorate in Psychology and a Master of Arts from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. He completed an internship at the University of South Florida Counseling Center in Tampa, Fla. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Mississippi Psychological Association.
In his practice, he offers counseling for individuals, couples and families and psychological evaluation and testing for adolescents and adults. He also specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trauma therapy. Yowell’s special practice interests include personality and relational patterns, attachment style, trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and cognitive and interpersonal therapy.
His goal is to teach patients to use their strengths and develop skills and tools for managing their stress and improving their emotional health.
