Hattiesburg Clinic Donates Over $2,700 to Edwards Street Fellowship Center
Hattiesburg Clinic recently presented a check for $2,754.45 to Edwards Street Fellowship Center (ESFC), a local charity dedicated to providing a helping hand to the underserved in the greater Hattiesburg area. The funds were raised through a clinic-wide t-shirt contest, in which over 600 shirts were sold, showcasing both employee creativity and community spirit.
The winning t-shirt design was created by Keisha Wedgeworth, a certified medical assistant at Hattiesburg Clinic Immediate Care – Petal, who shared her excitement over the success of the campaign. “It was amazing to see how many of my coworkers and community members rallied behind this cause,” Wedgeworth said. “Knowing that something I designed could contribute to helping Edwards Street is such an honor. It really highlights how the clinic values giving back and making a difference.”
Hattiesburg Clinic’s commitment to serving the community is deeply woven into the organization’s values. Bryan N. Batson, MD, chief executive officer of Hattiesburg Clinic, expressed gratitude for the clinic’s partnership with ESFC and the generosity of the clinic’s employees.
“We are proud of the creativity and engagement shown by our employees in this fundraiser. Their commitment to helping the underserved speaks volumes about the values we uphold as an organization and the culture of service that they embody every day,” Batson said. “We are grateful for the longstanding relationship we have built with Edwards Street Fellowship Center and for the vital work they do to support our community. It is an honor to contribute to their mission, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to serve our communities alongside them.”
ESFC has been serving the Hattiesburg community for over four decades, offering food, health care, services and support to those in need. Ann McCullen, executive director of ESFC, expressed her appreciation for the donation and the ongoing support from Hattiesburg Clinic.
“This generous donation from Hattiesburg Clinic will go a long way in helping us continue our mission of serving the underserved in Hattiesburg,” McCullen said. “We are incredibly thankful for their support and the involvement of their employees, who clearly care about the work we do. Partnerships like these are essential for us to keep meeting the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community.”
The donation not only highlighted Hattiesburg Clinic’s ongoing community support but also underscored the values that guide its employees’ daily work: compassion, commitment, fairness, integrity, respect and vision. The funds from this campaign will directly support the operations of Edwards Street Fellowship Center, allowing them to provide much-needed services to those most in need.
