Marlena Shaw is Selected as Hattiesburg Clinic’s Employee of the Quarter
Marlena Shaw, Administrative Assistant to Bryan N. Batson, MD, CEO, has been selected as the Employee of the Quarter at Hattiesburg Clinic. This recognition is awarded based on nominations from peers, managers and patients, and the final selection is made by a committee representing all levels of the clinic. Shaw is being recognized for her dedication, fairness and teamwork.
Kimberlie Graham, a colleague in Administration who nominated Shaw as Employee of the Quarter, praised her compassion and work ethic, stating, “She has a heart of gold and is one of the most loyal co-workers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.” Despite Shaw’s demanding role as the assistant to Dr. Batson, she consistently goes above and beyond to support her colleagues and ensure the smooth functioning of the administrative processes.
“Marlena is such an outstanding example of a ‘service’ mindset. Regardless of who reaches out to her for assistance, whether it is a patient, a staff member, one of our physicians or someone outside the organization, she demonstrates the utmost professionalism and exhibits her genuine desire to help,” Dr. Batson said.
Graham further emphasized Shaw’s fairness and willingness to help, stating, “Marlena treats everyone with the same level of respect and kindness. She volunteers to help without complaint, even when the project does not fall under her normal daily tasks.” Shaw’s willingness to volunteer for tasks outside her usual responsibilities reflects her proactive and selfless character.
Jean Anne Potin, Administrative Assistant to Alex H. Agnew, CFO, added, “We have been on the administrative team together for nearly 23 years. Marlena exhibits all of Hattiesburg Clinic’s values to the core: Integrity, Fairness, Vision, Commitment, Compassion and Respect – she’s got it all!”
