Enhanced Hello Patient Feature Streamlines Check-Ins at Hattiesburg Clinic
We are pleased to introduce an update to the Hello Patient feature within the Hattiesburg Clinic patient portal, Iris. Hello Patient is a feature in Iris that notifies patients 30 minutes before their appointment time, allowing them to confirm their arrival and providing the clinic with real-time updates on their status. With this update, marking yourself as arrived for your appointment has never been easier, ensuring a hassle-free experience from the moment you arrive at one of Hattiesburg Clinic’s campuses.
Previously, patients needed to enable Bluetooth or location services to utilize Hello Patient. Now, instead of relying on location services, Hello Patient operates based on your appointment time. This means that 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment, Iris will automatically send you a notification, prompting you to confirm your arrival.
By choosing “I’m here,” patients will be directed to a confirmation page, instantly informing them they are successfully checked in. Opting for “I’m almost there” will redirect patients to a screen where they can provide an estimated time of arrival, offering up to 30 minutes of flexibility around their appointment time. In the event a patient selects “I’m not coming,” they will be guided to a screen providing instructions on how to promptly cancel their appointment.
Below are examples of what the notification and landing pages will look like for patients:
Can Patients Disable This Function?
We understand preferences vary, and some patients may prefer not to receive these notifications. To ensure patients have control over their Hello Patient experience, they may disable this function if they choose. Here is how:
- In Iris, Click Menu -> Communication Preferences
- Navigate to “Appointments”
- Under “Appointments” section, toggle off “Push notification”.
