Carrie E. Morgan, PhD, CCSP, Discusses Autism Diagnostics in WDAM Interview

Carrie E. Morgan, PhD, CCSP, a psychologist with Hattiesburg Clinic Psychology & Counseling, was recently featured in a WDAM video segment. Dr. Morgan shared her insights on diagnosing autism as part of WDAM’s story on “UMMC Seeking African American Volunteers for Autism Research.”

While the primary focus of the story was on UMMC’s efforts to involve African American volunteers in autism research, Morgan provided information on the diagnostic criteria. “Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is described in two different areas of criteria… one is more social development and communication, and the other side is more behavioral,” she said.
