Chelsea L. Kitchens, PTA, Receives Orthopaedics Certification
Chelsea L. Kitchens, a physical therapist assistant (PTA) with Hattiesburg Clinic Physical Rehabilitation – Tatum Park, recently received her Advanced Proficiency Pathway (APP) in Orthopaedics Certification. She is currently the only PTA in the state of Mississippi with this certification.
Advanced Proficiency Pathways is a program for increasing a PTA’s knowledge and skill in a chosen area of physical therapy. The APP Orthopaedic Proficiency Certification (OPC) provides licensed PTAs the opportunity to advance their practice in the care of patients suffering from orthopaedic-related conditions. A provider with the OPC designation represents someone who is a movement expert, integrating advanced technical skills and pain neuroscience with comprehensive exercise to skillfully manage patients along with the entire health care team.
By completing this program, Kitchens joins only 159 other PTAs in the United States who have achieved an APP in orthopaedics.
Congratulations, Ms. Kitchens. Thank you for your dedication to Hattiesburg Clinic, our community and our patients.
