Hattiesburg Clinic Honors Physicians on National Doctors’ Day

March 30 marks National Doctors’ Day, a time to recognize and celebrate the dedication, expertise and compassion of physicians across the country.

We at Hattiesburg Clinic recognize and honor the contributions of our physicians who serve patients in our communities, making a meaningful impact on those lives. We encourage everyone to take a moment to thank a physician.

National Doctors’ Day has a rich history that dates back 90 years. The observance was first acknowledged in 1933 by Eudora Brown Almond, the wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, to acknowledge physicians’ vital contributions to health care. She chose March 30 in recognition of a medical milestone—the first use of anesthesia in surgery on March 30, 1842. While the occasion remained unofficial for many decades, it was officially recognized as a national holiday in 1991 when Congress passed a proclamation to honor physicians nationwide.

Happy National Doctors’ Day to all our incredible physicians at Hattiesburg Clinic! Your contributions make a difference every day, and we are grateful for all you do.
