You should aim to clean your glasses daily. Best practices for cleaning your glasses include:
For traveling or quick touchups, use lens wipes or a lens spray with a microfiber cloth. Avoid cleaning your glasses using clothing, household glass cleaners, surface cleaners or disposable paper products (such as paper towels or tissues). These items may cause smears, scratches and lens damage.
Below are a few tips on storing and wearing your glasses:
Biweekly and monthly contacts require cleaning solution. To clean your contacts:
It is best practice to replace your contact lens case every three months. If you notice damage to the case, replace it immediately. You will also want to replace your contacts at their designated intervals, such as daily or monthly.
Make sure your right contact is stored on the right side of the case and vice versa, especially if your eyes have different strengths. Your case should have indicators for left (L) and right (R) lenses. Keep your contacts stored at room temperature.
Avoid sleeping in your contacts, which can cause long-term damage to your eyes.
It may be time for a glasses adjustment if:
Common glasses repairs include tightening screws, replacing nose pads, realigning crooked frames and replacing lenses. Your glasses and frames may need to be fully replaced if there is extensive damage or you have an outdated prescription.
For contacts, these should be replaced if your prescription is outdated or your contacts are torn.
