Joint Injections Overview
Joints are found throughout the body, wherever two or more bones come together. They play an essential role in allowing you to move your limbs, working in coordination with the tendons, ligaments and cartilage surrounding them.
Because they play such an important role in our daily movements, though, they often suffer the effects of constant use. Joints are prone to becoming inflamed, which can lead to swelling, pain and limited mobility.
There are a variety of treatment options for joint-related pain, ranging from basic, at-home care to surgical procedures such as knee replacement or hip replacement. Joint injections are one such treatment option, often recommended to treat inflammatory joint conditions.
