Diabetes Care Overview
Millions of people in the United States are living with diabetes. For patients who have diabetes, the simplest daily tasks can be overwhelming, but it does not have to be this way. Whether you have recently been diagnosed or you are looking for new ways to improve your daily blood sugar management and quality of life, Hattiesburg Clinic is here to help.
Diabetes Education
Hattiesburg Clinic Diabetes Care is a Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) program accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). The program provides diabetes education and support to help patients with prediabetes, type 1, type 2 or gestational diabetes gain knowledge and experience to manage their diabetes, reduce risk for complications and enhance their quality of life.
Diabetes Management & Prevention
Daily nutrition, exercise and health habits are necessary to prevent the potential complications of diabetes. Undiagnosed patients may already have certain conditions, like heart or vascular disease, that make managing blood sugars critical. Other patients may not experience complications until several years of uncontrolled blood sugars. Through our Diabetes Self-Management Education program, we provide important information about the complications of diabetes and tools to help our patients live a long, healthy life.

Establishing a relationship with a doctor specialized in managing diabetes is an important early step. At Hattiesburg Clinic, our endocrinologists offer unique expertise to help determine the most effective medication, devices and care plans for your unique needs.
