Hattiesburg Clinic Employees Recognized for Contributions
Hattiesburg Clinic recently attended the United Way of Southeast Mississippi’s Annual Meeting & Thank You Banquet on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. During the event, Hattiesburg Clinic received a Pacesetter Award, which is presented to each company who begins their fundraising campaign early in an effort to set the pace for other companies. The clinic also received a Silver Award for their overall percentage of participation, leadership giving and average gift amount.
United Way of Southeast Mississippi hosts this event every year to say thank you to the organizations that raise money for the United Way and its partner agencies. It also gives attendees the opportunity to learn about the positive impact their donations make for our communities.
United Way of Southeast Mississippi is a local nonprofit organization that strives to make a positive impact in Forrest, Lamar, Marion and Perry Counties. The organization provides financial assistance to local partnering agencies and addresses community issues in the four impact areas of education, economic mobility, health and support services. Every donation made to United Way of Southeast Mississippi helps support 20 partner agencies and programs in the Pine Belt. Hattiesburg Clinic physicians and employees directly impact these communities by signing up to give monetarily through workplace giving.
When asked about the importance of workplace giving, John Klauk, procurement manager with Hattiesburg Clinic Information Systems, commented:
“Why not choose to give a fraction of our earnings to actively contribute creating a stronger community? By doing so, we enhance the quality of life for those around us. To quote Winston Churchill, ‘We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.’”
