Flowood Primary Care Welcomes O. Barrett Jones, MD
O. Barrett Jones, MD, recently joined Hattiesburg Clinic Flowood Primary Care, where he provides comprehensive evaluation and care to meet family health needs.
Dr. Jones received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Miss. He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Jones is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the Academy of Communication and Healthcare, American Association of Medical Review Officers, SIM Mission Agency, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Mississippi State Medical Association and Mississippi Academy of Family Medicine.
At Flowood Primary Care, he provides comprehensive primary care to meet the total health needs of each family member. Primary care physicians, family medicine doctors, internal medicine doctors or pediatricians, cover most everyday health concerns and can help identify potential health problems early. They also work with the appropriate specialists when you need advanced medical questions addressed in a specific area. Primary care physicians’ diverse training allows them to offer continuing, comprehensive care from the newborn to the grandparent.
When asked why he chose Hattiesburg Clinic, Jones said, “I consider it a great honor to walk alongside patients through their health care journey. Over the last 20 years, I have had the opportunity to practice medicine in many settings, from the United States Air Force with tours in Iraq, as the Medical Director of a leading medical center in Malawi, Africa, to here in the Jackson metro area. These experiences have led to a deep care of patients and their unique struggles. I have long since admired Hattiesburg Clinic for being leaders of health care in Mississippi. I am thrilled to be joining this group.”
